In Jeff Lindsay's Dexternovels, Dexter refers to him in his mind as "Angel No Relation." Angel introduces himself to people in the books as Angel Batista- no relation, hence where Dexter picks up "Angel No Relation." In the second book some history of Cuba is mentioned about Ruben Fulgencio Batista the leader Castro overthrew from which can be alluded that this is why Angel "jokes" about being "Angel Batista-no relation".
