I don't think he necessarily does anything with his victims' cars, since most of the time he doesn't abduct them there. Donovon in the pilot episode was the only one where he was actually in their car, AFAIK.

So the rest of the time the victim's car would be left behind, along with all their other possessions, with no evidence of Dexter having been there.

As for the cars that he actually uses - well yes, I'm sure there'd be his victims' DNA in his own car as we've seen him use it to transport bodies at least once (Roger Hicks in the minivan's stow and go seating LOL). But most often we know that he uses cars from impound.

And if one of those impound cars was ever identified by someone who has seen Dexter bringing in an unconscious victim - as Rodrigo's neighbour spotted him doing in season 2 - I'm sure there's be DNA in those cars that could be traced back to him. In the case of the car he used for Rodrigo, I'm guessing he got away with it because the car had been sold or disposed of by the PD by then, so they couldn't check for DNA.

BTW - the car thing is actually one of the plot holes for me. I am amazed that only once (that we know of) has Dexter been spotted carrying an unconscious victim to whatever car he's using. I know he's careful,but he can't check every single window to see that nobody's watching him. I can't help but wonder if that part of Dexter's ritual - his desire to set up a separate kill room often in a specific place - will one day be his downfall.

I do agree with you that Dexter keeps his distance out of self-preservation, but I think he also does so to protect Deb--he doesn't want to have to kill her--totally against either Harry's Code, or his own, revamped one...

Yes, pretty implausible, just have to see a junkie's eyes...Just goes to show how badly Rita is damaged., and how much she wants a relationship with a man who is "good." Have you read the books yet? Her husband Paul REALLY put her through the ringer. I just started the 2nd book.

yeah, the only way that they would even know his blood type is if they asked it for some emengency form for the work place. Not even a job like Dexter's asks for a blood type. I'm a nurse I don't have to give a blood type. The feds, even the President does'nt have to give a blood type. Wait, the president probably has blood type standing by, but he'd be the only one.
Only if he came under suspician would they take DNA and then only if it could help prove something. I dont know of anywhere dna would help. The BHB has'nt left any behind. The ITK did'nt leave any behind untill his death. And they had no need to test any one else in the ITK case because after he was apprehended, ie dead, the case was over.
They already know the Bay Harbor Butcher is someone on the police force, if DNA could help they have tested everyone on the force already.

He didn't recognize Rudy's voice as the person who mutalated him, because he never talked to Toney. He knew about the rapper because Dex accidently let that little bit of info out when he was talking to him at that outside restarount.
