| Sgt. Doakes knows there's something off about Dexter. He gives Dexter a stern warning: | "I'm watching you mother-f***er". | "I'm watching you mother-lover" | |||
| Deb is known for her colorful languange, often interjecting obscenities in everyday speech. | "You're f***ing her?" (Deb suspicious of Dex's rapport with Lt. LaGuerta) | "You're sleeping with her?" (her back is to the camera, so the voiceover is not apparent) | |||
| Dexter keeps a single piece of memorabilia from each of his kills: a blood-stained glass slide. | Dexter methodically draws a scalpel across his victim's cheek to obtain a blood sample for his slide collection. | The camera cuts away as Dexter presses the scalpel to his victim's cheek. We do not see it slicing the flesh. | |||
| When dexter kills someone. | He stabs them in the chest or cuts their throat. | They cut away on cbs and whats the point of watching it then?? | |||

Speaking as a Dexter fan who DOES NOT HAVE SHOWTIME, I feel the attempt to transition a show like Dexter to public TV is a big mistake. Dexter is edgy, spooky, sexy, dirty-mouthed, voilent, bloody, and clever; the best things about this show are being cut out to make it 'CBS appropriate' and it is completely pointless. I do not have Showtime, and I find it very easy to keep-up with the show; Dvds, visiting a friends house to watch, or online streams at various sites make it simple. This TV-crime is just as bad as when they put 'Sex in the City' on TBS; we lose the best parts of the show, which make it the show that it is! In addition, people who have never viewed the 'unrated' original version of Dexter will have a COMPLETELY different (and incorrect) take on the show. Boo CBS. Boo.

I will agree that the Showtime verison is better than CBS. (With the Sho one you actually get the full story.) But without it showing on CBS I would have never found it. Now I own the first season, the first two books, and I can't wait to see the second season. Unfortunatly I cannot get Showtime because my mother doesn't want me to have it so I'm stuck with just buying the dvd's and hoping CBS will show the second season.
I can totally understand how the CBS verison kinda kills it, but I had no other choice but to watch it there. |

Cbs is a family network so let it be that. I watch SHO shows because I want real adult entertainment if i want to watch a show about a serial killer. I want to see someone pissed off and killing people and the journey into a tormented mind. Not a fluffy murder mystery show i think there is already plenty of those. The shows being on SHO is what sets them apart and make them so good. Let CBS show reality shows, family comedys, and crime dramas. Keep the real adult entertainment where it belongs!
