• The LA Times joins the long list of critics who think this is the best season yet of Dexter. • New York Magazine contemplates real life serial killers who've possibly inspired the Trinity Killer. • E!Online's Watch with Kristin has a theory about who shot Deb and Lundy. It's pretty far down the page (which is a mine field of spoilers for other shows), but her theory is [SPECULATION SPOILER - Highlight to view] that it's Trinity's son Jonah [END SPOILER]. What do you think? • Seattle Post-Intelligencer gives Dexter one of the spots in its Top Moments of the Week List: "7. Best Mistake: On Dexter, our favorite serial killer offs a man who he believes murdered a model. But he second-guesses himself when police arrest the man's assistant for the same crime. For the first time, Dexter has broken his code and killed an innocent man. He's just like any other murderer now." I guess they're technically correct in that Freebo wasn't entirely innocent, but Freebo was definitely outside the code, as well.

Accordiing to the School Library Journal, the Jeff Lindsay Dexter series seems to be a hit with the teens, at least in Campbell County KY.
Valerie Davis, Campbell County Public Library, KY:
"When teens started asking for books on forensics, we were surprised that they latched on to Jeff Lindsay’s adult “Dexter” series (Doubleday), which began with Darkly Dreaming Dexter, because of the concept on which it is based: sympathy for a serial killer."
It's great that kids are getting into forensics, but lets hope they stay away from serial killing!

She writes "When it debuted, it was hard to imagine watching a show in which the hero was an emotionally damaged serial killer. Now it's impossible to imagine not watching." "I have read all 4 books, and kind of liked the 3rd one, which had the real Dark Passenger turn. It reminded me a bit something one may see in an Indiana Jones movie."
I prefer the realistic aspect the show chooses over the supernatural one.
The show is really showing the evolution of someone who is emotionally stunted and has been pretty realistic in that regard.
I heard the 5th dexter book will explore cannibalism...
