Man it feels to to be right. Like I predicted, Dexter was kidnapped for his bachelor party and NOT by the skinner. It was great watching Dexter's reactions to all the debauchery happening around him.
This episode was great. Maybe the best in the season. To me, there were so many funny lines (or non-lines; Masuka pointing to his pubic area). Deb has begun to find out the truth about Harry and has requested more information about him and his C.I.'s. She's going to find out about Harry and Dexter's real mom. Maybe she'll even find out about Rudy being Dexter's brother. That'd be great. I wonder if when she found out, she would think she has to keep it a secret from Dexter.
I loved that Masuka was stoked because the Tammy girl he was with had issues. By his logic, that means they are compatible. I hope something comes from this relationship. Masuka could use some drama.
And what about Deb and Quinn? I really like him so I would love if them two got together. I don't know if it will really happen since they spent so much time building up Anton's character. Perhaps they're simply planting the seeds of a future love story for another season.
I like the idea of Deb being Dexter's best man. It's not going to help Deb's image, but its a sweet notion on Dexter's part.
Miguel's last moments were amazing! I felt like a dork because I literally said, "Yes!!!!!!" when Dexter told Miguel he killed his brother. The way he said it was so perfect.
The Skinner is still out there though. Something's gonna happen between him and Dex. He probably won't take to kindly Dexter pinning Miguel's murder on him.
It saddens me that after next week, we have to wait another 9 months till another Dexter. This season went by too fast. I wish there were more. It's definitely better than season two.

RE: Thoughts on "I Had a Dream"

"Quick question. Why was the episode called, "I Had a Dream?" What was the dream?" I believe Dex's dream throughout much of his adult life was to have a friend and also someone he could confide in and tell his dark secrets to. Miguel represented what Dex thought was the incarnation of his dream... something he never thought would actually happen, only to painfully figure out in this episode that his dream can never come true and he is doomed to his true dark inner self living a life of loneliness and secrecy. I thought the ending of this episode was fantastic the way he tells Miguel that he in-fact was his little brothers killer, right before he kills him... I like to see that dark side of Dexter every once in a while. It is also very artistic and full of symbolism the way the writers played the episode off so perfectly with the scene fading off from colorized slowly to black and white, symbolizing Miguel's life slowly fading away at the same time and Dexter reverting back to a lonely dark dweller with no confidantes. If you notice... the song that they play in the background while the screen is fading to black and white as Miguel is dying is Track 20 from the Dexter Soundtrack "House", which is played in various parts of different episodes in Season 1 where Dexter is very alone. The awesome twist on the song is that it's played backwards in this scene, presumably to symbolize Dexter reverting back to a solitary being as Miguel is dying and his acceptance of the undeniable truth of his perennial destiny to be a loner. Awesome!
