The guitar bit when Dexter is talking about queuing up for a coffee, does it have a name? It plays elsewhere in during the episode as well.

Dexter is this decade's Dirty Harry: I certainly can't speak for everyone, but it's Dexter's inner monologue and (justified) killing sprees that makes this show so magnetic, and that's why it kills me to see the direction the series appears to be taking.
None of the new characters have any real substance to add: they just seem to be fodder for standard storylines (e.g. Lila as Dexter's confidant/Rita's romantic rival, Lundy as Deb's surrogate father figure/mentor/potential lover, Rita's mom as the mother-from-hell). Instead, all we have to live for are little nuggets, like LaGuerta's next power play, Masuka's perverse giggle, Angel's rays of hope and humanity. I truly love this show and will continue to watch it, but it won't be with the same enthusiasm I had for the first season, or even the first three eps of season two.

I can't decide if I like Lila or not and she definitely is a little much, but I do think that she is adding a new element of depth to Dexter's inner phyche. Her way of seeing him for who he is will definitely lead to more flashbacks, which is good. They were pretty cozy in the hotel and Rita's mom is moving in, so I see Lila possibly becoming a love interest, but could also see it taking another direction.
I was shocked to find that Laura Moser was killed because she was an informant, but saw it coming right after his flashback in the interrogation room. This show has continued to keep me on the edge of my seat with each episode. I love the new twists and turns that come each week.. I am very interested in Debra's love life, but I can see how another fan may prefer that this area is simply re-capped (much like Angel's in the first season). I think Dexter may get caught soon- and wonder why Deb didn't tell him about the 24 hour survailance- but my husband strongly disagrees that he will be exposed because he said that it would ruin the show.. but I would still be interested in a season or two of flashbacks from prison because there are still several questions about the past of all of the characters that have been left unanswered..

It would seem to be a large coincidence, but i think the costume they came up with is freaking awesome. Love that giant hood!

Is somebody at Showtime in the comic book business? They turned a character on QAF into a super hero, too. I love the idea in both cases, so I'm not complaining, but it's interesting that they've used the device on two shows on this relatively new network. I'm dying to know if there's a behind the scenes connection.
