Episode summary: Deb and Angel are looking into the identity of the Ice Truck Killer and stumble across a familiar name with speeding violations near the Ice Truck Killers 3rd crime scene. Dexter is working on Sgt. Doakes' knife victim as Dexter already knows who the killer is he just needs some time to find him.

Episode 7: Circle of Friends - Dexter WikiDescription of crime: The investigation centers around the death of an honor roll student.

Victim(s): One male victim.


Assigned officer(s): Sgt. Doakes.

Crime scene: The male victim was found in an alley.

Suspect(s): Dexter has seen this knife work before and knows who the killer was.

Blood spatter evidence suggests... Dexter sees that the killer has had experience & points out that every knife stroke has hit a major artery, apart from one.

Description of crime: No.1 suspect for being the Ice Truck Killer.

Clue(s): Neil Perry's RV is full of small evidence. (i.e Taxidermist items, website on butchering the human body & his own hard copy of all the Ice Truck Killer's files)

Developments with Rita:
  • Dexter and Rita talk about Paul when Dexter tells Rita that he has a dark side, but Rita say he has a good heart and doesn't hurt people. Dexter corrects her, he doesn't hurt innocent people.




 Interactions with others:
  • Dexter tries help Jeremy by telling him to pretend that the feelings are there.
  • Dexter's is "saddened" by Jeremy's suicide. Dexter was going to take Jeremy under his wing.


SIGNIFICANCE OF EPISODE TITLE

Dexter refers to Jeremy Downs and Neil Perry (who Dexter dreads may be the Ice Truck Killer) as his "Circle of Friends", since they are the only two people he can relate to as a killer.

As a new viewer, I was rivited to my seat episodes 1-7. After this episode, however, the plot became spoon fed and predictable. I knew that the ice-truck killer had to be Dexter's brother and Rita and Deb's characters became more annoying to me. If the writers don't spruce up the complexity and entensity of the plot as well as the interactions between the characters as it had in the first six episodes, I doubt that I'll be watching Dexter it in the future.
