When I heard Lila's witchy cackle as Dex turned to leave his office it made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. And howcan his coworkers be so crass as to wine and dine her knowing she and Dex broke up and he looks horrified to be near her. For cops they are very dense. They should be able to pick up on this or maybe his outright statments about her being nuts.
Come on guys think with your brain instead of your ......

You can clearly see that Dexter is given a "place of power" in regard to the slides. Whether or not this is Lundy's chance to "trap" him is the only question
Soon enough we will know...

Sweet Sassy Molassy! That show almost gave me a heart attack! Last week was super intense, and this week promptly followed in suit!
The dream sequence in the beginning was pretty funny, and when Dexter apologized to Rita afterward (and hugged the kids), it made my heart smile. I could've done without seeing Lundy's butt though. Although it does look like Deb and Lundy are very happy together, and Deb's been through some rough times, so she deserves it. As we all predicted, Doakes did get pinned as a suspect for the Bay Harbor Butcher. I had a little mini-crisis when Doakes and Dexter were having the stand-off on the dock. I didn't know how Dexter was gonna weasel his way out of that one. I said this about last week's episode and I'll say it again: I didn't the the show would, but IT SO WENT THERE! I have no idea how Dexter's gonna fix his bullet wound, especially since he wasn't suppose to be outside of his apartment. I predict Deb or Rita will see it and start asking too many questions. And Lila! What a psycho woman! Looks like she is gonna start using Angel. I bet Dexter is gonna have to save him too! I have to confess though, I was a little worried when they were in the bathroom arguing, because it did seem like Dexter was touched by her words, and I didn't want him going back to her. I am also really glad it looks like Dexter will be with Rita again. Dexter also seemed genuinely excited to see her again when he told the FBI man they were meeting the next day. I'm so relieved. In all, this episode wasn't as good for me as last week because all I wanted was Dexter to wise up to Lila, and that happened last week. I'm also very happy Harry made an appearance in this episode again, although he still comes off as sort of a jerk. I wish he was portrayed as the good guy he was in season one (but the season isn't over yet, so it can still be so).

I was a bit surprised at Dexter overpowering Doakes. I had lost track of the fact that Dex too had martial arts training and was skillfully adept at using his talents more so and more often than Doakes over a period of time.
It was easy to conclude that Doakes had to go down due to the nature of the show. Then there’s the code. Rule # 1: Don’t get caught, rule # 2 no innocents. Doakes fits 2 but this tough, hard core LE can not resist shooting bad people out of shear desire. For Dexter it’s an urge. Desire or urge it’s this very thread that has me wondering how they may find common ground. “Have you decided what you’re going to do!?” “Yes, but I don’t think you’re going to like it.” Dexter unfurls his bag of goodies and this may be the turning point for Doakes. He wants to live to enjoy any fame and glory be it the arrest and capture of Dexter or some future collar. Dexter already offered up a peace offering by stating that he could prove Doakes’ innocence. Perhaps we find the weak side of the all-go-no-quit Doakes. He does not want to die. Hacked to bits is not what he had in mind not to mention that it does not fit tidy into “Harry’s Code”. Perhaps Doakes agrees to back off if allowed to live and has his name cleared while promising Dexter that “He’ll be watching” and “the next time you try to kill, I’ll be there” because “this is not over”. Doakes is tainted and this truly good cop has a shaky history of shootings and brutality. Even if allowed to live and be set free, could he turn the BHB blame on to Dexter? I don’t think it will stand up in court. Dexter’s GSW: Dexter can slip back into his apartment and stage an accidental discharge. Dexter, whom was never a gun type, has shot himself while preparing his weapon in fear of Doakes. He is a blood spatter expert after all. The guys at the precinct may heckle him a bit and request that he leave the guns to the real cops. The GSW is easily dismissible.

So... How great was that!
Glad Dex and Rita are going to patch things up! And the thing with Doakes, I'm almost certain he won't kill him, he'll say he snuck into his apartment, took Dex on his boat to the location, and work something out from there. Not sure what, but the feds gave him a number to call, good starting point. And Lila! What a b*tch! Light at the end of the tunnel... Get anyone else thinking about arsonists? Lila in particular? I hope she doesn't kill Angel, but a fire at Angels place seems likely. I SO can't wait for next weeks episode!
