DISSECTING THE TRINITY KILLER
Motivations: His sister died while taking a bath because she was surprised by him watching her and fell breaking the glass doors, cutting her leg and finally bleeding out before the medics arrived, then his mother jumped to her death, then the father suffered a fatal wound to the head
Methods: Trinity even though it was thought that he killed in threes (therefore the Trinity killer) Trinity has been killing in fours all over the United States, his cycle begins with the abduction of a 10 year old who he then burries in cement (which is why they are never found), then a woman in a bathtub (whom he kills to represent his sister's death), then a mother falling to her death (which represents his mother's suicide) and then a man bludgeoned with a hammer.
Pre/post kill rituals:He leaves a trace of his Sister's ashes at each kill site, then atones for each kill by punishing himself.
Childhood trauma: His mother, sister, and father all died
Self image: Extremely vein. Not only believes that his social status as an upstanding citizen justifies his horrible treatment of people (including own family), but that he should also be respected (and feared in his family's case) for it.
Inspirations: Character possibly inspired by real life serial killer John Edward Robinson.
Psychological disorders: Sociopath/Narciss
Reason for killing:
Similarities to actual serial killers: The Zodiac Killer (who was also never caught) and The BTK Killer (who wasn't caught for nearly 3 decades).

indecisive_killer Trinity - Best Antagonist In Any Season of the Show 0 Dec 7 2009, 2:02 PM EST by indecisive_killer

I just had to say that I think Trinity is (by far and away) the best non-Dexter-Killer character on the show. In fact he's a probably a very close second (behind Dex himself obviously) for my favourite character on the show, full stop. I just think, his scenes in the early episodes where gems, sparkling on the crown of the episode. The character has been revealed more and more, and he's the most rounded, multi-dimensional and all-round interesting killer (outside of Dex) ever on the show. I also think that this could be Lithgow's best work: I love John Lithgow and a lot of people forget about his book-end psycho killer roles, either side of his most famous work on '3rd Rock From the Sun'. Scenes like, getting beaten up outside the bar, the upset juxtaposed with the violence of the bludgeoning, the double meaning of talking to the staff in the DIY store, picking the hammer that will kill the man ("It's a big job"); really Lithgow can make anything sound creepy or down right bad ass...take the latest episode for example (4x11), I predicted the whole episode based on the promo, but it's a real testament to the show and all the cast and crew when despite this, the episode was just as dramatic and simply brilliant, the tension of the final scene in particular, I knew how it would end, but Lithgow really give the final line the punch, that just makes your heart-stop with pure televisual awesome.
