Rita confronts Dexter regarding what happened to Paul and presents Paul's shoe as evidence relating Paul's story and his accusations about Dexter. Dexter confesses he did hit Paul to protect Rita and the children but that it was impromtu, not planned. Knowing what happened that is certainly the impression left when the viewer sees the events unfold in the previous episode. While Dexter several times comments about how easy it would be to end Paul's threat he does not seem to be planning anything. When the even occurs it certainly seems to have been in a moment of passion as it were and unexpected even to Dexter. In the aftermath Dexter is scrambling to do something with Paul.
When Rita confronts him regarding the heroin he tells the truth, he stole it. This is what he reveals before the confession in his inner dialogue so the viewer knows this is the truth. however, when Rita questions how Dexter's actions could have been unplanned if he previous stole the heroin from lockup, Dexter is stymied. When Rita accuses him of using, he then acquieses to the lie as the "easier" path, the more defensible I suppose and the one she is more ready to hear. What confuses me is this. If as Dexter tells the viewer he did steal the heroin, how and when did he do that and why. It seems to support what Rita contends that he must have been planning the action against Paul or Dexter himself is a drug addict. On the other hand that would contradict Dexter's dialogue to the viewer that the action was in the heat of passion and unplanned.

Well we already know Lundy is coming back to the show. Lundy was tailing a killer known as "The Trinity Killer" (named for killing three people at a time), who also has evaded arrest for over 30 years when the killer flees to Miami right when Lundy is about to catch him. Is it possible that season 4 will lead to Lundy finding out Dexter? With Doakes out of the picture, Dexter would become the only suspect if Dexter ever made a mistake. Its just a thought :]

Hey, I've been searching for hours but found little more than other people who were after the same info.
I am wondering if anyone knows the song in this episode where Deb goes to the bar to talk to Quinn's CI and there's a spanish or mexican band playing (of which the informant is a member - plays the guitar)? I think it starts with (and forgive my spanish - i don't speak a word) "La luna me sombrilla la noche"...and the chorus is "Tu (something) Tu (something), Tu, Tu, Tu..(something) etc." I am in love with it. I hope it's an actual real song that exists and not just a clip of a song made up by the composers of the series. Thanks to whoever can help! and Happy New Year!

Im looking for clothes seen on the show...to buy. I know alot of the characters clothes can be found at shopstyle.com like it says on the showtime site. However Im looking for clothes worn by Deb in the promo shoots...like the pink striped top from the 2nd season promos and the multicolored top worn in season 3 promos...and any shirts not listed on the site...
Also Im looking for a site that has clothes worn by Lila too. I loved her style. Can someone help me? I remember finding a site once that listed clothes worn by characters just on television shows. I donot remember the site though. |

In one episode, season 3, there was a reference to the number 29. I looked on every side, but couldn't establish the meaning to Dexter himself.

I can only imagine the wonderful games of Cat & Mouse (and the changes for each from predator to prey!) between John Lithgow and and Dexter!
IMDB.com confirms that John is going to be in 12 episodes as Walter Simmons. If you can't imagine just how WONDERFUL this season will be - please see Raising Cain - a "Must See" for any fan of Dexter. Thanks to everyone for making this such a wonderful show! Cereal Killer

Thats been the code for all seasons past, so I'm wondering if the writers will start this year again... It seems to be an easy way for Dex to get away with what he's been doing, seeings that it's how he's gotten away with what he does for the last three years. I cant see any way of writing in the children as "his suscessors, any time soon. Although I dont like that senerio, no matter how much all the critics seem to think thats the way it's going to happen, I just dont see it happening. I love the surprize of the whole coming season. I love to speculate and I love to hear from all of the supporters of the show. Bring it on!!

Comic-Con - San Diego, CA The word is that they will be there again this year except for one tiny little problem. No advance publicity, the tickets are all sold out, nothing on Showtime in time to get tickets, nothing on the boards or the wiki, nothing from Entertainment Earth. The fans that post here and on the boards had no warning. I monitored the Comic-Con site and no advance notice. I would have gone but due to the lack of advance notice, sorry! No can do. Did anyone know in enough time to get tickets? If so I would be interested in knowing how/where so next year MAYBE I can go again. Thanks!

The fourth book, Dexter by Design, isn't going to come out in America until September of this year. However, it was released internationally back in January. I just recieved my copy of it in the mail today. So any Dexter fan in the States who actually read the Dexter books, you can buy it on eBay from many people like I did and enjoy this new book six months before anyone else in the States.

I think that Dex would be relaxing getting to know his new family when the morning newspaper brings him news that criminals that got away with murder were being found dead and that the people copy catting him, were being caught left and right, making him worried that he would be found out by accident? Meanwhile, Lt. LaGuardia is on the hunt for Sgt. Doakes killer. And crazy guy chasing sister would end up killing a fellow cop that was a copy cat and Dex would have to cover it up for his sister! Comments please are all worth listening too. Thanks.

Does Dexter ever have the urge to go "outside" the code.
Like does he ever just want to let loose and kill a random person walking by, or has the code formed his urge only to kill those who deserve it?
