Thoughts about "Morning Comes"

In the name of all that is awesome in the world, I think this may be my new favorite episode of "Dexter". It was EVERYTHING I'd hoped for. The best part was, Lila's breasts were Missing in Action the entire episode, It's about damn time!

Once again, it seemed Deb spoke for the whole nation with her dis-liking of Lila. The best line of the night was when she called Lila something along the lines of a "British, titty vampire" (or something like that). Things did get a little bit awkward for me when Lundy was with Deb in his apartment. But still, way to go Deb!

The whole episode was just full of tension. It was almost too much. Lundy grilling Dexter in the beginning was intense, but I loved it. Lila invading Rita's home was intense, and Dexter having to leave the body there in the wilderness was outrageous! I dont even know if he cleaned it up. It was also CRAZY when it was revealed Lila told that man Dexter was at the Bowling Alley. I didn't know what to do!

My favorite part of the episode was when Dexter said he was officially done with Lila. That made the return of the old Dex official (even more so than him murdering his mother's killer). I loved how he threatened to kill her at the end (or at least "Show her the monster". No sexual joke intended).

And do I even have to mention Doakes taking Dexter's glass slides? That was the most "Oh no he didn't" moment I've ever seen. I absolutely did not expect the show to go there, but it totally did, and now I'm worried for Dexter's life!

I don't know how they did it, but they did, and I officially [heart] Dexter all over again. We only have four more episodes left, and I dont know how Dexter's gonna weasel his way out of this one. But I wanna be with him every step of the way. I hope he gets back with Rita real soon and I hope Harry starts becoming a major character again. Anybody agree/disagree?

OMG!!! I totally agree. This is my absolute favorite episode so far. I am so glad he told Lila to go away "or else". I knew he wouldn't stand for Lila messing with Rita and the kids. It's crazy when his kill isn't the most intense part of the show but tonights had so many things going for it. I wonder if technically (in Dexter's head) Lila is now a murderer because she set Jimenez up to get killed making her an accesory to murder?? huh?? - Just trying to get the ball rolling to get her head rolling.

Well I can't wait for next week's episode...ugh! what torture :(

The only thing I am worried about is how Dexter is going to get the slides back from Doakes or how that situation is going to work itself out. I don't like Doakes.

Someone wrote Dexter may frame Doaks as the killer. So far the Lundy-Doaks realationship hasnt gone well, esp. Doaks running out of the office tonight.

You're right and if the investigation turns up those slides at Doakes' place he's not going to convince anyone he broke into Dexter's place and stole them. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Yeah, that makes sense. If you watch the teaser for the next episode with Doakes, it seems as though he plans on making travel arrangements out of the country to examine the slides. And in the teaser with Dexter, it seems as though Lundy believes he has pin pointed who the Butcher is.

When you add this all together, you have Lundy suspicious of Doakes after he stormed out. Then, Lundy finds that Doakes is trying to get out of the US. At which point they recover the slides that he took from Dexter. To top it off, when Doakes tries to blame it on Dexter, no one will believe him (especially after he attacked Dexter at the office).

Anyways, I am hoping that is how it plays out as I couldn't handle Dexter getting caught because of Doakes of all people.

I think Lundy has suspected Doakes all along and they found the slides in his house and have brought Dexter in to help with the blood work on them. Anyone else agree? 3  out of 6 found this valuable. Do you?

Oh man! You're totally right. I thought that Dexter might pin being the Butcher on Doakes, but never really believed it, but now I'm thinking different now that Doakes is holding on to his slides.

That would be so sweet for Lundy to have Dex be blood expert and have to investigate the slides. Dexter would have a smile on his face so wide they might get suspicious. {:O) 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Oh my Lord! I think this may happen also:

Dexter had to leave the body in the wilderness so he could hurry to Rita's. Perhaps someone will find it, and they'll investigate that, and find out that Doakes has doesn't have an alibi for the time of the murder (he was breaking into Dexter's house after all when he should have been at the meeting with LaGuerta and that dude). Also, since he has the slides of blood, its not looking good. And also Camilla could attest that Doakes was asking for the police records (that she burned) that detail the guy that killed Dexter's mom, and who just so happened to show up dead.

I think I just convinced myself Doakes will be the Bay Harbor Butcher (to Lundy anyway).

I am a tad bit confused.
I always watch the show at its usual time, then go on demand and fast forward to the end (regular airings of the show do not preview "... coming next week..." but once the episode goes on demand at midnight, it can be found at the end). In that preview, it shows the feds coming to Dexter's house, Dexter apologizing to Deb as he's being led out by those men, and finally Dexter being led through the office in handcuffs (or at least that's what it looks like). But then, as previously stated by Gyro, the teaser online foreshadows Doakes getting blamed for everything. I have no idea what's about to come, but it looks like it's going to be one heck of an upcoming episode!
Nevertheless, something will become of that body in the woods. There is not one detail of this show that is overlooked. If it was made to be drawn to our attention that the body's still out there, there's obviously a reason for it.
I am way too into this show...

hey how can I see that "coming next week"?? I watch it on Directv and Tivo the original airing so I can watch it after the kids are in bed. Are you telling me the preview is only on on another airing. I know my recording goes straight into the next show which I thinkis brotherhood. I need teasers.. I want to see it!!!! On the Showtimes online "Dexter" page. A button should come up in the middle that says "watch preview"

Did anyone else notice how in the previews for the next episode Dexter's slide collection seemed to have grown, almost double the original amount, now I know that he has not killed anyone lately so how did they get there? Maybe Doakes put some of his own in there? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

OMG - Best episode of Season 2 so far!! Im so glad Dex finally is starting to come to his senses again, realising that RIta and the kids are more important thaN Lila. And as For Lila I'm so happy that Dex has seen her true colours. How can she expect anything to work out now between the two of them, after everything she has done to try and "keep Dexter". She's insane! I really hope Dex doesnt get caught, and I hope he will be able to frame Doakes as the killer. I thought that would be a great Idea considering Doakes background, and also what he said to Lt. LaGuerta, that his father was a butcher.

I love Deb tho, she is so funny. I couldn't help but burst out laughing when she was smirking about Dex lying to Lila about working late, and when she waved goodbye to Lila as she got into the lift. Classic!!! Cant wait for the next episode!!

Look at the main preview on the Dexter page and at the end when Lundy and Captain Matthews ask Dexter for answers, Dexter is then shown dragging his hand across the slides which seem to have doubled since the last time we saw them. I just thought that it was interesting and that maybe Doakes did something to it like adding more slides to them 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

"I've seen the two mini-clips from the Shotime page but I on't see anything about the slides in those previews."
Then you need to watch the Doakes one again. He talks about needing a lab to test them. It is the next episode's clips.
