"I was such a fan of Dexter- but was very upset about Lila. I guess I am like the only person who actually loved the character Lila- she was his soul mate . People are quick to judge her, forgetting that they admire a serial killer (oh that's right he is a "good" serial killer"-lol) please- I like the show, but if it is cool with everyone for Dex to kill-why such the hatred of Lila? Is it because she is not making excuses for her true nature? I guess it is cool to be a killer only if you are a dude? He was going to do Doakes himself ,so that was a lame excuse to kill her. That was a great Gothic love story and I think a huge mistake to kill off that character. Rita is boring. "

I think everyone felt a heart clentch when he slept with her the first time (how could you do that to Rita, et cetera, et cetera), but they did have a certain chemistry. She was very mother-like to Dexter, more-so than Rita in some areas.

Doakes was a great character, very interesting to watch. He presented Dexter with quite a challenge and seeing him go was, although needed because of the story, tough. My best firend and I would randomly proclaim, "Doakes!" during certain scenes of the show, even if Doakes wasn't on screen.

I applaud the show for taking the steps to keep the show "real" by offing such powerful characters -- there-by keeping us in suspense of our next loss. I truly think this is bold showmanship and it must continue. Especially if we are to be treated with something that is actually powerful and moving -- such as a show that takes our main character away from us and ends completely. Which, as I've stated in other threads, is what I think should happen near the end of season three. Of course, no one wants to see Dexter go, but I believe this is the only way to etch in our minds forever a show of this caliber. I can't wait..."

I hated Lila, Her character was done well, But the woman that played her was dog BuTT Unattractive. ( I am sorry dogs!!! ).

She's meant to be the vixen, the succubus type. Although I do disagree with her negative actions against the kids and the blackmail type of personality, she is extremely attractive. God, mixed emotions!

The way Rita first sees her, thinking at first Dexter has some big, burly man as a sponser, then notices the sexy, dark-haired Lila... wow. Ouch.

"And that IS a good thing jw. Its just not dying fast enough, it still seeps through the cracks.
Rita's part is perfect for Dexter. She's not a focus, just a stablizer. A baby? Hummm, a lot can happen in 9 months.
And you can bet we will be watching the killer, and past season's during off season. I have to peak through my fingers at some of the graffics occationally. I'm not over fond of blood scenes, but the industry has shown I am one of the minority. I do wish the show would have Dexter have a fantasy of Rita dressing like Lila once and show you just how sexy and beautiful she could be with all the fixings they gave Lila. Rita is very beautiful, even as plain Jane. But some of you would eat crow."
