Book 4 Speculation
Jan 24 2008, 6:06 PM EST I thought it was about time we had one of these. It will be called Dexter by Design but what will it be about? We still will have him trying to get Cody squared away. Which will be more difficult now that he has killed someone. This is obviously be one of the conflicts, but what I would find interesting if Brian returns and finds Dexter playing mentor with Cody. This results in the two brothers' playing tug of war with Cody's future. Which path will Cody choose and how will Dexter deal with his brother's presence? Will he hide him? From whom? I seem to remember reading somewhere it would be called "Dear Daddy Dexter" which lead me to believe he would impregnate Rita (but I didn't really believe this would be the title seeing as how I read it just before the third book was gonna come out). I think Brian showing back up would be great. I actually thought about it the other night, and I think he could show up as Dexter's "long lost Brother" and sort of crash at Rita's place with Dexter and Rita. It could be the sort of thing where Dexter obviously knows what his brother is all about, but he's pretending to be just as normal as Dexter pretends, and that can make Dexter nervous because he knows Brian could easily hurt his new family. It could work because only Deb knows what the Tamaimi Slasher looked liked, so Rita and the kids could fall in love with Brian, and Dexter would obviously be torn between helping his blood-brother, and protecting Rita and the kids. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Jan 31 2008, 8:27 PM EST Before even opening this post, or having read anything leaning towards the title, I always assumed the next book would be "Dear Daddy Dexter, " although Dexter by Design isn't bad... both address the central theme of him solidifying his role as "Mentor, " finding gratification from teaching his craft, and eventually retiring to the role of coach or guru. I'm quite interested in reading about the kids reaching their teenage years. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

So I think the confusion was with the UK version of Book 3. Do you find this valuable? |

Hope that helps.Hey, I found that article very interesting. I did however, know all of Lindsay's little anecdotes already from interviews I've seen of him. Not too be too pessimistic, but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the next book coming out NEXT year. For the longest time, Dexter in the Dark" was suppose to come out in Summer last year, but got pushed back to fall. There's always set-backs. I can hardly wait for it! 3 out of 3 found this valuable. May 10 2008, 1:23 AM EDT The title will be "Dexter by Design". It is scheduled for release in the UK September 18th 2008 I have been able to find no info on plot lines etc. Heres hoping something leaks soon lol... Or just publish it already! Do you find this valuable? |
