NO! Please. I can't stand her ordering Dexter around anymore. She is the laziest, most selfish, most demanding woman ever. He worst trait isn't trusting people. Her worst trait is playing the victim so she gets her way all the time. I can not stand to see this much of her. But more would make me lose all respect for Dexter, and make me stop watching the show. I can't believe how she treats him. She was nicer to her neighbors then to her husband. The way she cuts him off. She won't stop for a coffee? Dexter is so tired from both working and taking care of the kid that he falls asleep at the wheel, and its still not enough? She is a monster. BTW..why didn't the ***** just get in her car to buy her son some medicine? How can she just decide that nothing Dexter does is important. Its not her money that purchased that ugly pink house. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Everyone seems to forget, that Rita, HAS A SECRET. Dexter is husband number 3! She did not disclose that she had 2 previous husbands (not just the one). Dexter knows it..but has left it on the back-burner. She could very well be hiding another secret, larger than any of us can currently see. Her character, is doing it's job. If she rubs people the wrong way... her acting is working. That is her role, after-all. To get rid of her. Unthinkable. If the script is written right, she could be integral to some very interesting twists and turns in the show. Do you find this valuable?

In an interview Julie Benz made the comment that Rita wears her emotions on her shirt sleeve. You know what she's thinking and how she feels about it. This is the opposite of Dexter. This show works on these types of ironies. Dexter and Rita have secrets and troubled pasts. They have used each other for their own reasons and the result is where we are now. Both of them have relationship issues. This has been part of the story from day one, Dexter and Rita, both evolving. I love this part of the Dexter story!

The complaints about Rita that I read here and on the boards for the most part are very petty. The complaints typically take a small event and blow it way out of proportion. Some of the complaints miss the target completely. The scene when Rita is driving Dexter to work and he wants to stop for some coffee is an example. I saw that as a funny scene, Rita totally clueless to her husbands’ habits. She should have known but didn’t. So what! It showed us the consequences of Dexter spreading himself too thin! The “complainers/bashers” started posting that Rita should die, be written out of the show, she’s a bit*h, controlling etc. In my opinion it’s almost impossible to give any credence to posts that go over the top like that. It’s sad that she draws so much hate.

Anyway, back to reality, it’s a show and its damn good!

Another thought. Season 3 short changed Rita as far as screen time is concerned. It is also the season that was rated as number 3 by many. Do you find this valuable?

I hope Dexter figures out a way to get Rita to STFU whilst still being able to do his thang. With his 'stuff' at home now - its going to be harder. Do you find this valuable?

i think even the actress knows how much some viewers hate her. it really is too bad because i dont think thats what the writers are intending. people obsess so much about dexter that they hate any character that interferes with his ritual. the other cast members are there to highlght the difference between a dangerous mind and a healthy one. i woudlnt even classify what rita does as nagging. he cant be as secretive living in the same house as her. so naturally those conflicts will come up. im not sure why rita is expected not to care when he does something weird? i guess im not that obsessed with dexter. i like some of the otehr characters, especially rita, and sympthize with them more than dexter. dont get me wrong. i like dexter. but hes very selfish for dragging so many people into his very dangerous world. thats a hideous thing to do. it makes up for it somewhat that he seems to have growing affection for them. but still. if he ever gets caught, there will be alot of broken hearts and ruined lives. it bothers me that people side with him in every scenario. rita has become a villain to some people. like shes deliberately pushing dexters buttons. shes not. trust me, shed run screaming if she knew the truth Do you find this valuable?
