Dexter & Rita's relationship
Jun 17 2008, 8:16 PM EDT Rita is Dexter's direct connection to his attemp to be normal and feel something, if that is even possible for Dexter. Her personality allows for all of his short comings and his strange hours. She loves Dexter and believes he is normal even if a bit odd. Thier sexual realtionship has evolved from nothing to her inviting him in for 15 minute quickies with the kids home! Rita has grown stronger through season 1 and 2 including all of the pain and disruptions caused by Paul and Lila and Dexter's addiction. Of course she doesn't know his real addition. Season 3 should explore her growth and most likely her demanding more of Dexter. Note that Rita has grown stronger dispite Dexter's short comings and Dexter has grown more attached to Rita and the kids showing maybe that he is evolving too. Any Rita fans out there like me? Hoping for Rita to be the mom of Dexter's child!?!? 8 out of 9 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jun 26 2008, 3:57 PM EDT I am Very VEry VERY Much a Rita fan. She is growing stronger. As well as Dexter is growing more loving. They have spent the night together it's not just 15 min quickies. Dexter has and is growing more attached to Rita. Rita is much more important to Dexter with each episode. But Why In The world does she need to get pregnant.? It would be absolutly irresponsible for her to do this. She is by all accounts a single mom. So she and Dexter are growing together. But If You have not been paying attention. Dexter is a Murder, he is a Serial Killer. This is against the law. He can be executed for this, or at least incarcerated at the minimum. This does not even add to the story line. This is a story about a serial killer. His chacter is defined all ready. We all know he has a fondness for children, He loves ( as best he can ) Cody and Astor. Will his chacter be better defined by adding another child for him to become attached to. I think this is defined. If anything all of you want another serial killer, there as soooo many Cody to become another Serial Killer, and I am guessing that this new baby will be added to the list of possible new killers. I really do not get it. I have been paying attention to the story. and this is a series about a Serial Killer, A Murderer. Who goes out and decides who should be executed. Decides by himself who should be killed. It is a very entertaining story yes, and we all love Dexter. But if we have every one becoming a serial killer. Jun 26 2008, 8:59 PM EDT Lets hope dex doesnt evolve too much to the normal side of things. Thats what keeps us tuning in to the next episode. Rita is a grounding force in dex`s life as maybe Deb is. And Lila was a step in the other direction. Its what made it interesting. Rita isnt on my list of favorites but they need her. 2 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Rita isnt on my list of favorites but they need her."I agree, But Lila was a grounding step also. She was able to show him what it feels like to have feelings. He was able to feel the excitement, and the joy of a relationship / well a sexual based relationship maybe. But he was able to grow from that to see Rita as the person he is the most happy with. Before Lila, Dexter had no emotion, he was an emotional void. He was empty, the only people he really demonstrated any joy over were the kids. He very much enjoyed the kids Rita's I mean. I seem to remember him interacting with other kids also and was very good with them also. YES Please do not over develop Dexter Keep Us Guessing. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jun 30 2008, 9:36 PM EDT Dex most happy with rita?? huh..dont think so. He uses Rita maybe for something stable in his life and they need her for that. Did you notice how excited Dex got before seeing Lila? Think he might have even enjoyed the games Lila played with him towards the end. Last nite i watched the episode where Dex sets ritas husband up to go to jail, and Doakes is following Dex everywhere. And he uses Rita for Doakes to see him with so maybe Doakes will think him `normal`. But of course Doakes doesnt fall for it. And Rudy kidnaps Deb and thinks Dex is going to help kill her. Dex said he feels really bad about having to kill Rudy because they are so much alike....anyway thats just my thoughts on this subject. Showtime is starting with the first episode and counting down to the 3`rd season 2 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

What if something bad were to happen to Rita (not her dying, I absolutely love her and Dexter together), I'd like to see how Dexter reacts to it and how he handles it. Like what if he almost loses her? I think it would be interesting to see. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I think that was proven at the end when Dexter arrived in Paris and gave Lila the Point of his frustration. If you are thinking he is happier with Lila than Rita then I think the season should be reviewed, and the last episode thought about a little bit. Just becasue we saw Dexter learning the Joys of Belly Bumping with Lila does not mean he is happy with her. She was teaching him something he did not know about. Now he has Rita na dhe can show her all about it. Yes I am sure Dexter is very happy with Rita as the season ended. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 17 2008, 11:29 AM EDT Dex totally enjoys being with Rita the most. One he wont let anyone talk bad about her, even when he is upset or apart from her. This is shown right after Roger says "She is not worth it, you're better of without that c***!" and Dex, in the heat of passion slams the knife in Rogers chest and says "Don't! ...talk that way about my girlfriend." And i could be wrong about this but didn't Dex get in a fight with Lila because she spoke poorly about Rita? But i do agree with mike91848, i think if Rita and Dex were to have a child together it would greatly add to the plot line. It would give Dex a real thing to care for, something that would truly be his and if anyone that was out to get him ever found out about it it could possibly make for a truly interesting few episodes. It could also give Dex a sense of more of a normalcy and a bigger reason as to why not to get caught and could add to his inner struggles. I am not so much of a Rita fan but a Dexter and Rita fan lol i am and always have been rooting for this relationship 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 17 2008, 2:31 PM EDT I think this season Rita will be a force to contend with. With each season (yes I know it has only been 2 others) she is getting stronger. I have a feeling she may out grow Dexter a little. But I think she will be loyal, and allow for the two of them to grow together. She now sort of holds some key info about him. In that she knows Dexter did something to Paul. I do not think she will black mail him, but I think she will have this become a part of their relationship mesning it may be a point that she will dwell on and she may have a hard time dealing with it. So Dexter will have to grow up and deal with this as an adult with feelings and everything. But the child thing I just do not see it. It can be a negative point too. Where they will have to stay together even if they do not really belong, or decide they can not over come the Paul issues. No one can forget about Paul. Paul was her husband and the father of her kids, and as she said, Dexter is no Paul either. She is growing and who knows what will happen when she grows out of her whimpy, abused woman phase. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
