"Sorry, had another thought.I think it was a good choice to do this, as it seems to be a fact that these maladjusted people, for what ever reason they got there, Can never be cured or successfully treated. In that case they seem to be an accident waiting to happen. It is only a waiting game for them kill. In the mean time they are ruining the lives of all of these kids. Pedophiles and rapists should automatically be included into the code, just grand daddied in. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

All things come to an end though, its part of life, and its enevitable.Dexter now knows the truth about harry, how he had an affair with his mom, killed himself, ect.Harry walked in on what he created (DEXTER) and couldnt accept it so he killed himself. So now,as you can see in this season,Dexter isnt listening to harry anymore, hes not listening to "The voice inside his head"

It's interesting though. While I can't relate to Harry's mindset when he decided to train Dexter, the system itself definitely works. Wouldn't Harry have felt WORSE if he allowed Dexter to become a ruthless monster? Maybe Dexter would have gotten caught and arrested, but he would have killed innocent people. I understand that seeing Dexter in action was traumatizing. But he wouldn't have gone through this trouble if he didn't think he was trying to do the right thing. If Dexter is as smart as he seems, he might have become a ruthless killer that killed innocent folks and never got caught. Maybe Harry couldn't bear it but he kinda did the right thing here. I can't see it any other way really. If his urge was that strong... what else can you do? I guess maybe he could have attempted therapy but that's not really the answer to such deep rooted issues. I can see why Harry couldn't live with himself... but his death messed Dexter up. More so now that he knows the truth.

Last season Dex became disenchanted with Harry after he found out things. Dexter then decided the code needed modification. So it is more like Dex's code. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"I disagree here. I think the attemopt to stray from the code reinforced how solid the code is, and how necessary. Case in point...Miguel Prado"I did not even mention the code. I have never thought the code was not important. In fact IF YOU READ my post it said only that the code needed modification. I agree that Miguel Proado is a good example of why there needs to be a code. But Dex is or was having trouble wanting to listen to Harry any more. Dex was modifying the code for himself. I was saying that the code is so very important to Dexter, as we all see each week. But after last season and Dexter became disenchanted with Harry and saw a need to change it to make it work for himself better that for Harry. I think you are referring to the person I was quoting. YOU see the italicized letters and words are from a quote I was referring to. I did not make that statement. I think you were objecting to that. It really helps to understand how this works before you write to someone and disagree. If you were a little drunk I can see how you can not understand what is going on. It is hard to focus on the words if you can not see. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Me too. There is something wrong with our prison system.Isn't that the truth?! I don't think we would have a prison system if they let Dex do what he does so well. I'm telling you, I'm sure the police depts. would love to have him work for them. Actually, that would be a good idea. Let Dexter start a class to teach all of these serial killers out there the code of Harry. Then turn them loose as the police dept. We could get rid of a lot of lawyers that way, too. I'm sure it would take care of the national debt! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Just think of all the guards out of a job,the catering staff, gym equipment manufacturers, clothing suppliers who would all suffer.Too big an industry. In the bloody prisons in the UK they eat better than the senior citizens and have cable tv,computers etc. its all wrong.WRONG I TELL YA. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

She needed a DVD player for some training DVD's and was told she couldn't have one because the prisoner's DVD player broke and they couldn't go without one for any length of time. I think he knows that Harry was right about things. Dexter is acting out as a stubborn child (kind of like Miguel, but not as strongly), and I think he knows that maybe he should'nt have zigged, when he should have zagged. 1 out of 1 found this valuable.
