One hour of justice,
and frustrations forgotten.
Minutes of leisure,
under the cotton.
Seconds stand still,
as I watch the game play.
Tick tock my heart,
for an hour today.
High on my mantle,
I hold with esteem,
your swift calculation
superhero of schemes.
With perfection in timing,
though fleeting may be,
one hour of justice
on my bedroom tv.

Transfixed we watch in awe,
fascinated by the flow and ease
with which he tries and succeeds.

Each turn of phrase, each expression
molded into sly and simple prose
slicing like a knife through meat.

And thus the power therein lies
with every heartbeat, short of breath
awaiting whatever will come next.
