metalikat	Do you think they're going to create a new serial killer for Season 4? Mar 12 2009, 1:11 AM EDT Thats been the code for all seasons past, so I'm wondering if the writers will start this year again... It seems to be an easy way for Dex to get away with what he's been doing, seeings that it's how he's gotten away with what he does for the last three years. I cant see any way of writing in the children as "his suscessors, any time soon. Although I dont like that senerio, no matter how much all the critics seem to think thats the way it's going to happen, I just dont see it happening. I love the surprize of the whole coming season. Mar 12 2009, 9:23 AM EDT The advantage of having a SK antagonist is that it takes the "evil" out of Dex and puts it on the "really bad" guy...;-) If Dex was the only one in operation and under investigation then it would accentuate the bad part of his predeliction. The beauty of the show is how the writers and actors get us to accept his evil-doing (no matter how justified it may seem) and even root for him in every situation. Sure there will be a huge twist to it all!!" How do you mena focus on Dexter more? Is it the fact that he is now marrrrried, and with child? Seeing his as a father husband more. I had not thought of that so much asthe fact that Deb was looking at the history of her father Harry and his past. That would lead her to Dexter and how he was a part of the past by way of being his girl friends kid. I was wondering how this would affect Deb as she would uncover things about Dexter.. It will start to look silly - I mean, how many serial killers does Miam have? So I'm thinking the PD could be solving a high-profile single or mass murder case that takes most of the season, or maybe there's a team of murderers that they're chasing. With the connection to Dexter's family, I'm thinking a murderous pedophile ring might be appropriate? That is why I do not understand why the kids need to become Serial killers also. I did not think this was the family business. And this means Dexter will lose his own cool bachelor home and have to live in that 1960's-decorated home of Rita's? Yuck. I couldn't really see Deb turning Dex in to the authorities (especially with a new wife and baby), but it would be great to see Deb as the antagonist for season 4. Their relationship is set up that they heavily influence each other, but at the end of the day they both are very independent characters. (on a side note, with their off-cam relationship and Hall being ax executive producer, it would seem logical that Jennifer will get more attention on screen in the future). As far as Miami having "too many serial killers", its far fetched but still falls within the show's limits. I mean look at how many people Dex has gone after because of multiple murders; it may not be as unrealistic as we hope. What I would like to see is some more references to Dexter's adopted mother. She's rarely mentioned (if at all) past season 1, but in his flashbacks he has some profound statements about here like when he says he killed the dog because it was barking all night and his mom was sick (I believe because of cancer..??). Given the way they tore down Harry's reputation in season 3, I'd like to see more about his wife and possibly who he is beyond "the guy that trained Dexter Morgan". But I like Rita, remember we ay find out about her past, and it may have dark secrets... So she may not be so syrupy sweet, and nice. If you remember last season, she was pushing some biyotch buttons while she was pregnant. She not so sweet then. It was testing Dexter, I think... I wonder if he will keep his apartment? this way he will still have a place to hide his goodies, and a place to go to to cool off. If I was him I ould consider it anyway..... or Maybe rest a storage room some place that is cheaper and can accomodate what he needs to stay safe. Post reply Do you find this valuable?

" You mentioned some ery good items, but I am not sure anything is predictable since the season has not started. It all depends on the writers, if they want to send us ut in six different directions that we went out on last season. I am hoping they stick to three solid plots / subplots, and maybe a forth one that can be a comedic relief subplot. That would be fun to have a little more humor added. I understand Miami is the New LA. Everyone is going there and it is so very popular. There are so many shows set in Miami. It's such a spread-out metropolis. As a SK, Dex would be kept so busy. Also the LAPD, Forensics work could almost become a 70 hour weekday job. Where would Dex find the time to do his justified SK killings? Love the locale of Miami - fits Dex to a "T". Season 4 - will have definitely have a new SK or diverse murders will be committed and MMPD will not be able to tie the MO's together. Season 3 had the Skinner so what would Season 4 call the SK? What if Dexter did more of that with actual evidence that he has gathered using his many talents? Not just for Deb but for others too. While he gets a kick out of leading the team down their path of success he can be out there taking out some really bad characters. The first part could be humorous. My favorite was Season 1, Ice Truck Killer and Season 2, Bay Harbor Butcher. Season 3's serial killer was uneventful to me. In Season 3, enjoyed the development of the relationship between ADA Miguel and Dexter. If the writers develop a new serial killer for Season 4-he/she should be far superior to Dexter's forensic and intuitive capabilities. Would be interesting to have a female serial killer. The closes we've ever come to that is Lila who was such a sociopath. Hope the writers truly become more creative in Season 4 when it comes to serial killer development.
