Dexter: Good or Bad for society?

I read somewhere that some parents orginization was protesting the showing of Dexter of cable TV.

On one hand, if every serial killer was like Dexter the world would be a much happier, safer place. Don't you think?

On the other hand, in the real world, I guess serial killers are not nearly as emotionally stable as Dexter. I can just picture some sick bastard killing hookers or something and then saying "I was just trying to help society like that show Dexter.".

EDIT: There is an actual case in Canada involving a guy who is being charged with murder who is a huge fan of Dexter. All I know is that this person is a fan of the show and that he considers himself to have alot in common with the character Dexter. My pure speculation is that this person is delusional about his connections with Dexter. When he watches the show all the points of morality and responsibility probably go right over this person's head. Metaphorically speaking of course. Do you find this valuable?

LMAO!_.

If the show gets cancelled because a few dumb*** people think that they are someone from TV i'm gunna get mad because thats like someone jumping off a roof because they got bitten by a spider and think that they are spiderman...
and I think that Dexter is good for society because he pretty much takes out the garbage because the police can't catch them or something.

Anything seems to be acceptable, in society...lest there be a riot. And the same goes for protests. There seems to be a protest, for everything and anything. If anything, I think this show creates the opportunity to question society. That is always a good opening for change. Do you find this valuable?

I don't think the show Dexter influences society all that much. It has amazing ideas and people find that they can relate to Dexter in many ways because his life corresponds to many life problems even with him being a serial killer. Just because you like Dexter doesn't mean that you have to agree with serial killers. The show is more of a theory on life and how it should be handled rather than killing.

Someone who is a murderer and tries to use the excuse of watching Dexter would have killed anyways with a different excuse if the show didn't exist.
