"What a powerful season four. But, what now? Will Deb learn too much because fo the CI's? Who will be Dexters next kill? What about family dynamics? What do YOU predict...for season five?"I wonder who the next Lithgow will be? The show has had some first rate acting on the opposing side of Dexter. But name value? I don't know! My 2c as to what's on the cards for season 5.>?Quinn and Deb in love. Way too many shared experiences for it not to happen, surely >?Quinn becomes the new Doakes. Its already started really - hes just been too busy w Christine to do much else about it. >?Deb finds out truth about Dex, torn between Quinn and Dex >?Dex finds out aboute Quinns past, justiying his death according to the code, but torn between that and Deb Of course, I hope Im wrong because I like to be surprised! how about what the hell? rita was killed? and dexters son laying in a pool of blood just like dexter when he was found by harry?! I myself went back and forth on if i liked rita but i didnt think they would kill her off if they really did. Im hoping theres more killing because season 5 didnt have as much killings as seasons before.

The grandparents will get custody of Cody and Astor. Dexter never adopted them. Dexter will be left alone to raise Harrison. However, daycare and nannies will give dexter a chance to start killing at will again. Each season Dexter's anger has grown. He is starting to lose control. I predict next season to be very bloody. If it is the final season he might get caught.

"I agre - he will have limited father time at first but being a dad will ultimatley be a strong motivator - and maybe if the show goes long enough Dexter may become a "Harry" teaching restaint to a new generation "Dexter" because Harrision has inherited the killer gene. I think dexter will split custody with the grandparents for cody and astor. I think they are too important to the show and getting rid of 3 main characters is alot. I think cody could even get the dark passenger like he does in the books. Also with split custody dexter will still be free to kill.I think Deb and Dexter's relationship will be huge in the next season. First she found out his connection to the ice truck killer, then he was too soon on the scene of to Arthur Mitchell's house. Finally with the trinity killer going after Rita, it might make Deb suspicious on why so many serial killers seem to focus on her brother. Quinn dating Deb will only help her see dexter for what he is. I could see this as the central story line. It is similar to season 2 with Doakes on him and Lundy hunting him, but this will be more personal, with Deb working on her own. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

There was a rumor last spring that Showtime was going to make a straight to DVD movie that would fill in the gap between season 4 and season 5.

I think there was many strings left behind from this season. Dexter had 2 individuals to keep him straight but now he will only have Deb. According to the novels, Dexter will teach him son the family business. Tonight's ending left the ground work of what will happen in the novel. Season 5: Deb will learn the truth of what her brother does and will accept and keep it a secret. She will die from a case. It wouldn't blow me away if Debra and Dexter eventually have an intimate relationship. They are not blood related and they are one another's closest companion. With the Laura Moser and Brain Moser stuff coming out, it sort of spaces away Dexter from Debra. Before, it was only Harry - Dad. Now, Debra really realizes that Dexter had a whole other family. It would be like two childhood friends who grew uo together, stayed friends and eventually hooked up. Plus don't forget Michael and Jennifer are married in real life..

I imagine that Dexter, reeling from the loss of Rita, will probably be left in an emotional lull or start careening off of the rails, which his character has already shown this season. Also, I've seen websites up that say season 5 may be the end of both Dexter and Weeds, if that type of hearsay is to be believed. Cody, Astor, and Harrison will probably find their way into either Rita's mother's hands (and since she hated Dexter from the beginning, will probably blame him for her daughter's death). Debrah will probably, in turn, blame herself for Rita's death (seeing the attack on Dexter to be an attempt on her) and, not knowing that Trinity (or Quaternary, lol) has shuffled off the mortal coil, will devote her time and resources to that and that alone. The series ends as a moral play, Dexter is caught and reveals everything to Debrah (albeit succinctly, or implies it) before taking his own life.....or.... Debrah gets kicked off the force due to her obsession over Trinity, Dexter keeps killing serial killers, Debrah gets on Dexter's train unbeknownst to him and believing he is Trinity. Debrah ends up killing Dexter in commission of a murder (maybe this time a co-worker as he continues his descent into desperation and loses his grip), the series ends with Debrah cradling Dexter in her arms, he says something crypic about the dark passenger and fades. (maybe he wakes up in a hospital bed...leaving the series open ended to be picked up later by a different company). In any case, I'm sure the writers will throw something crazy together. Killing off Rita was bold, and putting Harrison in Dexter's early shoes was dark. Maybe the theme will be overcoming the determinisic thinking that leads Dexter to kill, and that we are not slaves to circumstances but rather make our own choices. I hope they end the series on a positive light, with Dexter throwing off the dark passenger and raising the kids happily. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Most of you don't realize that Dexter will very likely become the prime suspect in Rita's murder. He is the husband after all--usually the first one suspected. Where was Dexter all day while his wife was being butchered. How about taking a polygraph? He'd never pass. Quinn will be asking all sorts of questions about his absenses over the last few weeks "chasing tail". A motive could easily be established and with no reak alibi... what do you think?
