Almost painful
Oct 23 2007, 8:48 PM EDT
Dexter is single-handedly my favorite show on television ever. Period. But this past episode was without a doubt, the single worst episode they have produced so far. Almost painful to watch actually. All the sexual tension between Dexter and Lila, Deb and Lundy, even Angel and the woman he was interviewing, seemed tacked on. And the whole deal with La Guerta and Pescal's fiance? Don't get me started! Dexter isn't suppose to be that kind of show! It's not a soap-opera. Anyone out there agree?

Hi, have to admit that I agree. (Or am I bloodthirsty b/c Dexter didn't kill anyone?) The Lila character is lovely to look at, but she seems to be written as just plain annoying, and unfortunately, the actress is doing her job well; Debra has to work through her father-figure issues and I hope they don't play it out through Lundy; Angel seemed to be play-acting with the victim's wife to get to the truth of about her husband; Rita's mother appears to be another annoying red herring -- whattya think?Couldn't tell you how disappointed I was with the way Pascal was written until the payoff at the end of this episode: it was really necessary to see how far LaGuerta would go to get her position of power back, and to show that she was just a little bit sorry. All in all, a weak episode, but ultimately, I believe they will end satisfactorily in later eps (I think Lila is the heart of the major spoiler: check out "Dexter Spoilers" if you're interested). Or I could be full of it. Kill someone already, Dex! Do you find this valuable? |

I like the way you think Swedish Chef. After the episode ended I was very upset with the show. It was boring. I want to see Dexter kill again too, and it looks like this upcoming episode, we probably won't. Just in the preview for it, I see he's about to kill a man, but calls his sponsor to be talked down from it. What the hell man? Just kill them. I thought you already accepted your a serial killer in the last season when you saw the "shrink".

I agree that Lila is annoying. I really don't like her on the show. I think she is trying too hard to be eccentric.. riding her car on the lawn, stealing trinkets from someone's porch. You're just left sitting there like.. ok??? And the British accent is totally out of place. They are in MIAMI. I don't know. Ok, I get that she's hot and she understands Dexter but again.. I'm getting annoyed with her. Why did she have to take a shower with the door open? Yes, I don't want this show to turn into a soap opera. I HATE soap operas.

I know what you mean about the British accent. I'm sure there are a good amount of people with British accents in Miami, but it just takes me out of the show when she talks because I can't help but think the actress is there because of her hotness and not because she plays a good addict (I'd bet when the role was being written, it didn't mention anything about an accent).
