"im pretty sure the whole doakes thing will be settled with the story from the second book, Dr Danco anyone?"I don't think so. They couldn't just introduce another serial killer (or torturer) this far into the season. Something bigs going down guys, and you're gonna wanna be there when it does. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

24. The light bulb
Nov 13 2007, 11:42 AM EST
I think the significance of the light bulb is that Lila gets want she wants, anyway she can. She broke her landlord's light so that he would finally look into her light and it worked. Just like how she lit her place on fire to get Dexter back and away from Rita and her kids. 3 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

my exact thoughts. And Doakes has done all the loose cannon stuff himself to help the theory out, but what about that preview of Lundy grilling Dextor over sloppy blood work that set a guy free that became a victim for the butcher? I'm a nervous wreck and Sunday is 6 days away!!!

I think the Dex and rita's sex scenes were supposed to seem forced. Dex did'nt really care if he had sex or not. He's deffinatly hetersexual but it's just his no feelings part of his psyco personality. This season his feeling have continued to come out and if/when he and Rita get back together, I bet they break the bed down. the sex with lila may have been in part a substitution of something else to use besides his real addiction. I am a member of NA have been for 6 years and so maybe I see this thought different than someone that does'nt know much about addiction and treatment. but (blush, blush) That was one of the first things I used instead while I was getting back on my feet so to say.

The lightbulb was the ONLY thing not messed up in the house when everything else was burnt and ruined, and I think he picked up on that. Also, I think it goes back to what was quoted above. He remembered that she said what she wants is what she gets. She knew he was with Rita and the kids and is a pissy bitch and wanted her way. She couldn't get it and made it so over the top that he would feel guilty for not answering. What a psycho. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Alright guys. I'm not sure if this is the most appropriate place to post this, but I can't resist myself. Check out the promo for next week's episode and look how INSANE it looks. I'm surprised I'm actually saying this, but I'm finally getting back into the season after episodes four through six disappointed me. Copy and paste this into your browser and let me know what you think, cause it looks like Lila finally snaps and Doakes may find Dexter's darkest secrets (but I doubt it).http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-xJgO3lq0c 3 out of 5 found this valuable. The jazz that Lundy was listening to was from perhaps the seminal jazz album, Kinda Blue by Miles Davis. Everyone should own it.

It really looks like Dex is going to kill somebody next week The question is, is it Doakes or Lila? My money is on LIla, but I"m really going to miss those sex scenes. I like Rita, but I think the attraction to Lila for Dexter is that he can be himself - he's rough, and angry with her in a way he can't be with Rita. Remember the first time he was with Rita he was sure he would scare her off. It makes sense that Dex would associate sex and violence.

Oh yeah - it's his mom's killer if he's using the chainsaw, but you never know. They might be trying to throw us off by that. He's gotta make Doakes look like a suicide or it'll come back to him. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

That would be just waaaay to ridiculous. Honestly, I don't know how the Dexter/Doakes conflict will end. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"I don't think Dexter is going to kill Doakes either, and I have thought of Dexter framing Doakes, but I cannot see how "I agree, i think dexter has been f**ing up a lot. My personal belief is that he is becoming more human. Perhaps his introversion is become less prudent. I think that he will use Doakes as an aliby for a few episodes, however i dont think he will kill him just yet. As we all know it Dexter and Doakes share the same belief "kill those who kill the innocent." I clicked on the website for todays episode and i think things are heating up. The lighbulb does aplify Lilas obsession over control, but i think dexter will plan on having her around for at least two more episodes and perhaps then kill her. As for dexter getting called on the mess up on the blood splatter report I think he will play it off as a distressful case, and blame it on doakes. Also, for the whole bit of Doakes finding Dexters blood slides, i think it will probably one of those "dream" scenes, wher dexter is facing his closest encounter with Doaks. Dreaming that Doaks is about to catch him. Now, i know im just speculating so please dont hold it againts me. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Either way Dex needs a wake up call to get rid of the one piece of evidence that could send him to the electric chair. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

He probably won't even see it, but he looks in there to give the audience a good scare. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

The light bulb, I think, is the light bulb lighting up in Dexter's mind as he realizes that Lila will go for and get what she wants, regardless of what she breaks to get it.

"Or, Dex or Deb walks in on Doakes before he gets a chance to crack open his air conditioner. Either way Dex needs a wake up call to get rid of the one piece of evidence that could send him to the electric chair."I think Doakes was at Dex's and found the slides. Remember LaGuerta apologizing for Doakes not arriving at the dinner for a new job for him yet and he got so mad about the bloodwork he would'nt even stay and talk to Lundy? If you look at Doakes performance at work and all he's done lately, not knowing anything about Dexter, I know I would be thinking Doakes is the man. Perfect killer background and everything. Also, the slides. There's hardly a seriel killer that does'nt keep some keepsake of thier crime. With Doakes in possesion of them, who's to say thier not his? Now I got to go watch the next weeks trailers, and then my opinions may all change? but Doakes going down for being the butcher is the only way I see out for Dex. Do you find this valuable? |
